Murchison Falls

Murchison Falls

Murchison Falls National Park is the most well-known and largest National Park in Uganda. It is known for its many animals and the awe-inspiring waterfalls. If you would like to see as much wildlife as you possibly can, and and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings, we highly recommend visiting!

Wildlife & activities

A trip on the river Nile is an experience that you absolutely cannot miss out on, and especially not if this trip takes in the Murchison Falls as well. The park is further known for its vast array of wildlife such as hippopotami, elephants, crocodiles, buffalos and many, many others. If you would like to spot animals, this is the go-to place!

Campsites & lodges

With a view onto the Murchison Falls and onto the Papyrus Islands, this lodge is a beautiful location to stay the night. Since the park contains such a diversity of wildlife, you can opt for a prolonged stay and still not manage to see it all! And if you want to relax after a day of wildlife spotting, you can submerge yourself in the lodge’s swimming pool. Check out their website.

This lodge is closely situated to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a National Park protecting rhinoceroses in Uganda. This sanctuary was founded in 2005 to reintroduce rhinoceroses into Uganda, after the animal had become extinct in the country. Amuka Lodge is an amazing place to stay close to both the rhinoceroses as well as the Murchison Falls National Park. Check out their website.
