Extreme East

Extreme East

Our journey through the authentic East Uganda takes us through a rugged landscape with high altitudes. We start our adventure in the capital city of Kampala and then head to Jinja, known as the adventure haven of the country. In Jinja, we can conquer the rapids of the Nile delta during a rafting trip. Then we visit Kapchorwa, located on the former volcano “Mt. Elgon” and are surrounded by the beautiful mountains of Nakapiripirit and Moroto, home to the Karamojong tribe.

Next, we take an exciting “game drive” through Kidepo National Park, known for its abundance of wild animals, including 77 species of mammals and approximately 475 bird species. This area is also the location of a significant paleontological discovery, the remains of Ugandapithecus major, a 20 million-year-old ancestor of primates.

The route is approximately 2000 kilometers and consists of 30% paved roads and 70% sand and gravel paths, making it a challenge to drive through this landscape by motorcycle. The trip lasts 10 riding days, including arrival and departure days, and is most pleasant between August and February, when the climate in Northeast Uganda is most semi-dry.

Accommodations are hotels and/or lodges, with the option to wild camp with the guidance of a wildlife ranger.
